A Short Bio
For me, a camera isn’t just a tool; it’s a reason to pause and take a closer look at the world. It’s a philosophy that has guided me my entire life.
I grew up in Toronto with a father who loved photography and music and a mother who was a gifted painter. While I didn't inherit her skill with a brush, I was definitely instilled with a sense of artistic framing and an eye for what makes an image beautiful. To build on that foundation, I’ve spent thousands of hours practicing, experimenting, and studying everywhere from MoMA to my own backyard.
For years, I worked in the corporate world for big names like Yamaha and Ford. But I always knew my heart was elsewhere. My favorite gift for a friend’s wedding was a collection of photo-journalistic images from a guest’s point of view. They always loved it, and I realized that creating something so timeless was what I really loved doing.
So, I made the leap. Today I’m driven to keep experimenting and evolving. It’s why I don’t stick to just one genre. A wedding can teach you something about architecture, and vice-versa. This approach allows me to bring a diverse range of techniques and a fresh perspective to everything I do.
While my acceptance speech for that big award is still a work-in-progress (I'll be sure to thank my mom, pop, and partner!), my real reward is creating images that you'll love for a lifetime.
